Mile High Natural Awakenings

Sep 05, 2019 05:50PM ● By Terry Chriswell
Once again, the summer has flown by and we slide into cooler days and crisper nights in  September. The apples are finally turning red, and who doesn’t look forward to the plethora of outdoor concerts and festivals? The beginning of fall starts with the equinox on September 23.

With the awakening of fall, we offer Your Awakenings, a new section on page 12, where we want to hear YOUR STORIES – stories about changing perceptions, the realization of truth, or a shift in consciousness. This month, Taylor Short shares her fascinating story that led to her purpose and getting in touch with her Higher Self.

In the feature on page 16, Marlaina Donato offers a comprehensive guide to ward off  inflammation and premature cell death in “Age-Defying Bodywork: How to Turn Back the Clock.” She explains how fortifying the nervous system through massage, acupuncture and reflexology is critical to combating age-accelerating stress hormones like cortisol—and has been
embraced by the medical mainstream.

Some states, municipalities and private companies are taking us back to the future in innovative ways in Yvette Hammett’s article “The Re-Use Revolution: Plastics Peril Drives New Strategies” on page 13. The growing plastics crisis has some people yearning for the days when soft drinks
and beer all came in reusable containers that required a deposit, or when milk and cream was delivered to the front porch in quaint, glass bottles.
