I know it sounds like a “cat poster” cliché, but this may be the most important question ever asked.
The answer WILL connect you to INTUITION that will lead you to heart-based solutions and possibilities that would not have been found by ego and mind power alone. But what is Love?
First Corinthians says: 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres… 8 Love never fails.
Author M. Scott Peck says that love is a decision, not a reaction. It’s a choice, not a response.
In “Conversations with God” Neal Donald Walsch said:
Love is not about what the other brings to you, it is about what you bring to the other - Who You Really Are when the challenges of relationship are present;
Love is unconditional;
Love knows no limitations – It is total and absolute freedom, experienced.
One who loves never seeks to restrict;
Love never denies the request of the beloved, God always says yes, God always allows. (This is the basis of Law of Attraction – one aspect of love.)
Love is far too big for our meager human brains to fully comprehend. It must be FELT or experienced through the heart and body. You feel it by giving it away. You experience it by choosing aspects of it to feel and act upon.
Our experience informs us that every situation or problem can be solved by taking love-based actions. If I’m furious at someone for breaking an agreement, I can choose patience and allowance. When business goes sideways, it is not proof of my unworthiness, but rather a reminder that love never fails and there is an alternative action that may be of greater service to others. (My thoughts toward myself must be loving too!) When I support loved ones I do not agree with, I am choosing love and its aspect of allowance. To choose to look past a family member’s hurt and suffering that looks like bitterness and anger to just accept them and hear them and let them be who they are – that is Love. (it keeps no record of wrongs).
There is always an action or choice to take based on Love. It will always lead to the next step; the greater connection; to mutual respect; and most importantly – to the highest good for all involved.
